Casa Quatro, tucked away in the heart of São Brás de Alportel, feels like a whisper from the past wrapped in quiet luxury. This former 1937 trading house, now lovingly restored by The Addresses, stands as a testament to time—its walls echoing stories of old, its soul still deeply rooted in the rhythm of the Algarve. Just steps from the town’s 16th-century cathedral, it offers a stay that is both deeply authentic and effortlessly serene.
Inside, light dances across white plaster walls, illuminating the vaulted ceilings that stretch with a quiet grace. The open-plan living space breathes with ease, inviting slow mornings and lingering evenings. Four elegant en-suite bedrooms promise restful nights, while a modern kitchen and sun-drenched dining areas set the stage for shared meals and soft conversation. A rooftop terrace catches golden sunsets, and below, a private indoor patio cradles a heated plunge pool—a hidden sanctuary for moments of pure stillness.

The Neighbourhood: São Brás de Alportel offers a glimpse into the Algarve’s quieter, more authentic side, where life unfolds at an easy pace. The local market, held daily except Sundays and Mondays, is a feast for the senses—stalls overflowing with fresh produce, regional cheeses, and fragrant herbs, while the monthly flea market invites treasure hunters to browse vintage finds and handcrafted goods. A short drive away, the lively town of Loulé enchants with its historic center, vibrant covered market, and artisan workshops. For those craving the sea, golden beaches are just 25 minutes away, offering sun-drenched shores and the salty breeze of the Atlantic—a perfect contrast to the town’s rustic charm.
Things to know: Sao Bras de Alportel is still quite under the radar in terms of tourist offer, so expect quite a paired back local experience in terms of restaurants & amenities. Parking is also offsite, but we recommend hiring a car to explore.
